Comment threads not loading #303

I haven't been able to load comment threads in the app for the past few days. I just see a spinner. I can see comments on the web just fine.

It’s working for me and I haven’t gotten any other reports. Will keep an eye open, but it’s likely a local issue to your device

I've also been experiencing this. Something changed recently and comment threads load painfully slow or time out.

I’ll reach out to HN to see if anything’s going on with their API.

I'm seeing the same as well. Comments either never loading or loading very slowly. Anecdotally, it seems related to the number of comments associated with a story. More comments means more likely to be slow or fail to load.

This is also something I've experienced. Comments usually don't load the first time but when I leave the thread and go back to it they do load after ~3 seconds on a strong network

Somehow things seems to be better for me as of right now. Maybe there is or was an issue with the API? I definitely noticed degradation over the past few days.

I can pretty much guarantee that this is a HN API issue. Octal hasn’t been updated in months (😅😅😅)

Seems to be fast again

Have been getting hit by this for the last few days. Seems better but still occasionally slow.
