tungsten installer should recognize mysqld_multi #594

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?

1. Try installing a master/slave topology with a server that uses mysqld_multi

What is the expected output?

Some users expect Tungsten to recognize it and install properly.

What do you see instead?

The installer issues errors that don't tell the real cause.

What is the possible cause?

Tungsten installer assumes a single my.cnf

What is the proposed solution?

There are two possible courses of action:
1) the installer could be enhanced to handle mysqld_multi labels
2) the installer should at least recognize that the my.cnf is a multiple one,
and return a proper error

Additional information

mentioning this issue in the documentation (in the prerequisites page) would
also help.
