1 month ago Why not --glitter? Please, don't pollute such great tool with bells and whistles for a single person who might use it. Creating outline is a role of post processing, not background removal. And it's not like that's some arcane knowledge or FLOSS tools for that aren't available (they are - GUI, command line and programming language wrappers) . For e.g.
- You can chain rembg with imagemagick (https://imagemagick.org/discourse-server/viewtopic.php?t=30302)
- in Gimp just do Layer>Transparency>Alpha to selection | Create new layer below current | Selection>Sharpen | Selection>Grow (choose value that fits you) | Set FB color to whatever you want, e.g. white | Tools>Paint>Bucket tool (or shift+b), use "fill whole selection". You can make a macro out of it, but the process itself takes 10 seconds, so it might not be even worth it.
- Inkscape: duplicate bitmap (ctrl+d) | Path>Trace bitmap | Choose brightness cutoff and set value to 0.990 | Press "apply" and move it down ({pg down} or {end}) | Shift + click on white color to add white stroke | eventually right click on stroke size to make it thicker or thinner
