I wrote the vast majority of this code while I worked for Amazon; when I decided to leave the company, Amazon graciously moved the project here from awslabs so that I could continue to maintain it. Several AWS services are currently using Flux (or an older version of it) in production.
I think adding a couple of sample application templates is a great idea; I'll keep this issue open to track that.
In the meantime, here are a few things you can reference:

Hi @danielgmyers, I'm working out a bit with SWF and this project looks like a nice alternative to the traditional approach using aspects. It looks like it is no longer promoted by Amazon as it previously seems to have been featured on awslabs, I don't know the reasons why. Can you indicate if the project is functional and if it is possible to have any helloworld or spring project as example?
It seems that once there were examples but I do not see them available to exercise.
