MP4 created by Arista Transcoder doesn't play #137

Open cga opened 12 years ago

1.Launch Arista Transcoder

2.Create a conversion using Device Preset computer - H.264 1920x1080

This Preset create a MP4 video file

This video doesn't play with SMPlayer or VLC media player

I tried ripping the DVD to MKV video format and it works, the problem seems to be with MP4

I can confirm the above error... in fact I believe that the process of conversion to MP4 does not complete, as my DVD was only half-way through per Arista's 'conversion progress bar', and should have kept going for another 35 minutes, and I was then on browser, with Arista in background, and Arista reported within a minute that it had completed conversion (ie impossibly soon to claim this)... so I believe that the MP4 process 'fails' but is reported as 'a completion' and that this is the reason why the resultant file does not play under any MP4 viewer.

Daniel, if MP4 option does not work, please at least 'grey it out' as an unselectable option, as very confusing for what is otherwise an excellent product, primarily suited to non-IT types, due to its simplicity of use.

I can confirm this error with an .MTS video with an 18 second length. Totem says "This file contains no playable streams." And the time-to-completion bar was wrong.

When I tried again with an .AVI version of the same video, I had a complete success (the time to completion even worked right).

Any chance of uploading the file somewhere so that I can test and potentially push it upstream to GStreamer to debug?
