5.1 sound issue #159

If the input file is an MKV (h.264, with AC3 5.1) including surround sound the output sound is grisly and awful (at least with iPod Nano preset). Are any other informations needed?

If you have a small sample file to reproduce the issue I can take a look and figure out which settings might be the problem. Alternatively you can also take the file upstream to GStreamer, which is what Arista uses to do its transcoding.

I have uploaded a part of the original file (cutted with avidemux, no re-encoding) and the same part of the transcoded file by Arista (device Apple preset iPhone). See the difference here: http://ubuntuone.com/2x8WSNcQFmQ4A5aLrYv3Cz

I tested the output with my custom preset and then the sound was okay, but for example the iPhone did not play any sound. As temporary solution I mixed the channels to stereo and then I encoded the files with Arista for the iPhone.
