prep for 0.8.0 release #105

Thanks for being so responsive to my PRs, @danielpclark.

It would be great to get #102 into a release, so here's me trying to help with that.

I'm being a bit presumptive by including today's date and as-yet-unmerged #104, so please adjust as needed.

I apologize that I haven't gotten to this. at the moment my life has become very busy. I'm coaching cross country, but when I can fit some time in I'll see to these PRs.

As far as this PR goes please remove all 0.8 references in the code. Having it in the title of the PR is okay, but please just update the changelog file with this PR and have it under the unreleased section. I'll handle the version release times when they're ready to go. Thank you.

Also the Added no-link detail in the changelog should be in the original PR you have open.
