The state classes, “open” and “close” conflict with either predefined classes or with CSS frameworks like twitter bootstrap which already have those classes defined and cannot easily be edited. A better practice would be to prepend the open and close classes with an application specific keyword such as jcollapse-open and jcollapse-closed
