TISC is a code to model isostasy, erosion/sediment transport/sedimentation, and tectonic kinematics, mostly for the study of sedimentary basins and source to sink systems.

Differing Products #11

Has there been observed differences in outputs between two different machines?

We have a MacBook Pro OS 10.11 and a Scientific Linux Cluster. The results are wildly different, the sediments "blow up" and sediments build up all over where there is no topographic minima (rising to 100's of km about surface).

One thought we had is that the linux cluster might be more sensitive to "less optimal" model set ups, (e.g. eros_dt is not sufficently small).

Your issue is not common. In the last years i've tested the code personally only in Mac's linux. But earlier i used to test the demos in Ubuntu. Except for the need to change some small compiling options, the results were undistinguishable.

You would need to better isolate the problem (find the simplest set up that gives you the trouble) to try to debug the issue
