[REQUEST] Arctic Icon Request Manager Integration #137

Arctic icon request manager is a subscription based service by the dev afollestad which makes icon request management a lot easier by handling all the app icons requested on its own and presenting them to the developers as a simple to do list. I love this dashboard to the core and really appreciate the efforts put in by Dani to make it one of the best dashboards out there. Arctic manager integration will surely make the life of developers a lot easier and will add to the functionality of the dashboard. Hoping that the said request will be considered.. I don't think it's a good idea to rely on a 3rd party online service to manage icon requests. What will happen to your history of requests when the service will be discontinued?

@Primokorn Please note the below points :

  1. You have the option to choose from either traditional mail based icon request or arctic manager based request even after integration.
  2. What is the use of keeping Icon request mails once you have gone through them and made the appropriate Icons along with the code.
  3. Arctic manager approach is much more futuristic rather than traditional mail based Icon requests. You don't have to go through heaps of mails just to know that the x app has been requested 15 times. It will save our time to a great extent which we can use in designing our Icons.
  4. Afollestad is a known developer and most of the famous Icon Pack developers have already got the Arctic Manager integrated so the service won't shut down just out of the blue.

1 - I know.

2•3 - I'm sure you can create something better into Calc / Excel. I currently manage the icon requests and generate xml files from Calc. It's a pretty useful information to know how much an app has been requests but it doesn't help much. It also depends on the current supported apps, the time you need to include icon requests and the icons that you may want to exclude from your icon pack.

4 - CyanogenMod was the most used Android custom ROM in the world but it did disappear... History tells that it's not a good idea to rely on a service that you don't control.

Anyway as long as we can continue using the email system, it's fine for me. However I think there are more important things to improve/add before working on this integration. Example: better quality of original icons, remove special characters to avoid errors when compiling in Android Studio,...

Let's wait for @danimahardhika's opinion.

What do you think @danimahardhika?

Personally, I think this is a great thing. I hope @danimahardhika adds it soon!

If you use this tool to manage the icon requests, you have to be sure that it's GDPR compliant else you will have troubles with E.U...
