6 years ago I did get the timeout per button to work. I've tested it on my HA and it looks like it's working... then I saw that you've been working on this. Feel free to use it if you want, or just ignore it. It's a little simpler than what you were using, but it looks like your's should work just fine.
@danimtb, sorry about that. I thought I was testing this on my clone of your repository. Somehow I got back to your branch when I was messing around. I've never done a pull request, and was trying to figure out how it worked.
