Multipanel Altitude Dial #11

When climbing from takeoff if you raise altitude from say initially cleared level of 5000ft to FL280 while in VNAV the plane levels off.

Works fine if I manually turn the Dial in the plane instead of using the panel

Definitely not flight plan as it works fine if I use aircraft controls. Only when I use my multipanel does it do it.

What altitude had the plane when you increased from 5000ft to FL280? Did you pressed some other button, apart from increasing the selected altitude?

About 2000ft. No just increased altitude and the plane levels off. Only when using panel dial instead of in plane dial.
