Greyed out options for distance band #73

In the user guide and descriptions it is stated that I should be able to determine my own distance bands. However, in my QGIS all of these options are greyed out (see attached image). Is there a way to enable these options?

Edit: could it be because of my projection? (It's EPSG:28992)

I already found out: It's because I am using a shapefile. Apologies for the bother!
