Does this currently only work with Pantheon or is it possible to use it on other desktop environments such as MATE, GNOME or Budgie as well?

It should be possible to run in either environments, but it won't look right without the elementary stylesheet.

Closing this issue as "invalid" since it's a question and not an actionable report
