test suite problems on solaris #35

1) the ./run-test script runs in bash 2 but not in bash 3.

$ ./run-test
./run-test: cannot shift

2) the default awk cannot parse the awk script.  You need /usr/xpg4/bin/awk 
instead.

3) curl is not present.   It is availbale from sunfreeware.com.  wget may be 
available in /usr/sfw/bin 
by default.

Actually, it's not bash 3 that's the problem, but /bin/sh
