All the controls are contextual. The overlay uses the API that Elite Dangerous provides to automatically switch between contexts.
Edit mode forces some contextually hidden controls to be visible, so you can move them around. And the context overrides let you override the context in edit mode so you can tweak the positions of things.
@dantman It happened in the basic flight training when it was telling me to increase throttle so I would think it should have shown up then.
Try opening that scenario again and screenshot the overlay's desktop window. It has an output for debugging what context the overlay is currently seeing.
Also do you have a non-standard SavedGames folder? e.g. You moved your user folders to another directory. I recently fixed a bug with detecting context that happened when the SavedGames folder isn't where the overlay expected.
@dantman Maybe it was just a bug. I’ll try again tomorrow. Also I haven’t moved any folders for it or made new ones, I just did the oculus workaround compatibility thing. I’ll reply again tomorrow if it works again.
@dantman Do I need to add the screenshot if it works or should I only send it if it doesn’t?
Well if it works I guess not.
@dantman Ok, just making sure.
@dantman I tried again and it worked just fine. Sorry for wasting your time, I should have been more patient before posting.
I hate to ask a question again since I just did the other day but I just can’t figure it out. When I was going to set the bindings I realized the throttle slider and joystick were not there even though they were the other day just fine. After messing around some I found that in edit mode there was a button to preview main flight mode and when pressed showed all my holographic buttons and the joystick/throttle. When I turned edit mode off they went away.
