Assuming a there are players that want to listen to music while playing, it might be useful to implement a music player.
Ideas / reasons:
It's difficult to control desktop / device based media players while in VR, so it would be great to be able to control playing using holographic buttons.
Playing music using something outside VR is static, the music comes in as if you were wearing headphones in-game. However since we are aware of positioning of the HMD in the overlay we could implement a "virtual speaker" so the sound is directional and sounds like its coming from somewhere inside the cockpit.
We could also integrate it and make it context sensitive depending on player preference.
If a player wants to relax to music but doesn't want it distracting them when they need to focus. We could automatically pause the music when the player enters combat or otherwise gets into a dangerous situation.
Conversely instead of pausing the music, some players may wish to have a separate playlist with epic music as a combat playlist that we automatically switch to when they suddenly enter combat. (The journal already seems to have a Music event for when the built-in music changes)
The journal log includes a CockpitBlown event. We could mute or muffle music on events like these that indicate the cockpit has become a vacuum).
