I have some experience with srv. In the Unity project how should I add and script buttons.
I worked it out. Im working on the srv now
Whats the difference between "main ship cockpit" and "ship cockpit" catagories
"Ship Cockpit" covers both Main Ship and Fighter cockpits. i.e. The throttle and joystick are in the same place. Most of the ship control functions work the same. Except of course there are some things like frame shift that are exclusive to the Main Ship.
Cockpit of course covers Main Ship, Fighter, and SRV.
The key thing to do is identify the ship functions currently listed as Cockpit that don't actually function in the SRV.
I noticed the SRV cockpit mode button was greyed out and unable to be placed, though it had a binding.

Greyed out buttons are buttons for a different type of cockpit. You cant place a SRV cockpit button unless you are in a SRV cockpit.
I don't have much experience with SRVs, I only got Horizons recently while working on this project, partially to make sure it works in horizons. My initial assumption was that the driving controls would share most of the button mappings (UI, power management) unless overridden. But this may not be the case.
We should go over all the control buttons that don't work in the SRVs and update their category to be ship only.
And we should add control buttons for the driving control equivalent controls.
