Sony Xperia Z: UberSync crashes the contacts app #18

opening a contact created by uberSync causes the contacts app to force close. ran a full sync with default settings, also tried to wipe everything and reinstall, re-sync. it also crashes when opening a gmail contact which is automatically linked to an uberSync contact. works perfectly fine on my other devices with the same settings and same accounts.

I have the same problem with my Xperia P. So maybe it's a problem with Sony devices?

Yes. It's a problem with Sony devices. I don't know if it's my bug or Sony's, but I don't have an Xperia device, so I can't test and find the source of the problem, and a fix for it.

Same on Xperia S with Jelly Bean 4.1.2 . No problems on ICS

Oh, I just found this discussion, and have sync with my Xperia ZR, and now the contacts will crash...... So how to recover from it? Thanks a lot.

This is not a sony related issue, it works fine on ICS with Sony Xperia P , S but it crashes contacts application with Jelly bean, I think your app needs to fix something when working with jelly bean . Also lately your latest release where you have removed the additional functionalities is not available for download from Google Play, it says this version is not compatible I am using Xperia S , ICS , please help

It is a Sony issue. The app is working fine with Jelly Bean and even KitKat. (on all Nexus devices, Samsungs, LGs, HTCs and so on)

It's not available on Sonys because I disabled it. I was receiving a lot of bad reviews without being able to do anything about it.

Ok I understand reason you have disabled because it was somehow crashing the contacts app on Sony with Jelly bean , works fine with ICS on Sony devices. I would say if you can fix that thing, I really think you would be able to do that, lots of unhappy people would be happy as we don't have any solution at the moment. I would say fix this and be the hero, also start charging for the app after that ( won't mind paying a dollar if you fix this thing, because you won't believe I am running outdated ICS just to use uber sync. Love Uber Sync, please fix and let me use Jelly Bean. Thanks!

I finally got my hands on a Sony Android device with Jellybean and was able to replicate the bug. I don't understand it yet, but I found it's source and I'll try to make a fix/workaround/hack for it. Finger's crossed.
