Change the sync type setting to "Hard" or "Legacy". Although it's not recommended, unless you don't have a data connection always on.
thanks for the reply! you respond real fast and wasn't expecting that. i tried hard and it didnt work but legacy worked. my question now would be what will happen if you already synced using the legacy sync type then switched back to hard, medium or light?
It will/should keep the existing photos and changed them only on demand. (when needed)
so if i want the behavior i specified it would be best to just leave it at legacy, but if i could afford some blurry profile pictures then i would switch it to say hard so that i wouldn't consume that much bandwidth am i correct? i really appreciate your response! i will donate to your cause. great app i must say. :)
Not really. "Hard" uses the most bandwidth and resources. I don't know why it did not work for you, but it should sync all details (high res photos, status messages) on every sync. (only if they change, of course) "Legacy" tries to sync contacts the same way it did before the change. It's a little faster than "Hard", but kind of buggy. (Facebook limitations) The new method is way safer.
If you want to save bandwidth and battery, use "Soft" or "Medium", otherwise use "Hard". If it's not working as expected, open another issue and I will try to fix it.
i tried using hard and i ran a full sync instead of the normal one and it didnt sync the hi res photos. it synced when i chose legacy. i usually put it on hard and it worked before. the reason why i opened this thread is because i saw this in the change log: New in v1.2.0 (ICS+ only)
btw im using a Samsung Galaxy S3 I9300.
I noticed in the latest build that the behavior for syncing the hi-res photos have changed. can you include a feature for syncing automatically the hi res photos instead of syncing them after viewing the contact?
Thanks!
