Fixed #11. I referenced the web3.min.js file in index.html. 'web3.js' is no longer present inside the dist folder of the web3 package in /node_modules. This seemed to resolve this issue.
The installation of the web3 npm package was also required. I've added this as a dependency in package.json.
The account to use by web3 now has to be specified inside the load function of app.js.
