As of right now, there are little to no ranged or AoE items in the game. This could add a lot of options to playstyles, and can stop stalemate phases. A few items in mind are:
A staff that push enemies away with a meteor
An item that makes you go invisible
Of course, there should be ways to stop items like this, but at a cost. For example, you could make a hat that allows you to see invisible people, but you don't know when they'll attack, forcing you to spend lots of gold keeping it, or using it wisely.
