Here is a test output of things as they stand at the moment. It is producing 9000 words + or - depending on the run. Not very coherent and a long way to go to achieve narrative cohesion. (a lot of my time so far has gone into learning new tools) But hey, we are only at day 6.
The code now generates a crowd sourced first person narrative of around 6000 words and formats it (sort of) nicely with drop caps, chapter subtitles and all. All text is sourced from recent tweets. Still a long way to go, but I can see it taking shape through the nonsense and (apparent) randomness.

and just for the record another from the same code > https://github.com/clavis-magna/this-is-not-a-love-story/blob/master/output/this%20is%20not%20a%20love%20story%20v0-2-0(2).pdf
Any update?
I ended up being away from a computer for the second half of November, so while this project is not abandoned, it obviously did not make it in time for the end of November.
seeds of an idea :
In the 1999 I made an interactive installation called 'this is not a love story'. It has scant documentation [ http://miscellanea.com/artworks/this-is-not-a-love-story ] but at its heart was a short narrative in 16 episodes (and 1517 words). One of the aims of the work was to enlist the viewer to expand upon these narrative fragments and bring their own stories to mind, and in doing so, complete my own.
The exact text of that installation will act as a seed for my nanogenmo project, which will take the same title. These 1517 words will be used to find a greater narrative - the other 48483 words of the resulting text will be generated from text sourced from the open web.
