Thinking of modernizing/antiquating novel dialogue, but not 100% decided yet.

Okay here's my entry.

It's Pride and Prejudice with (most of) the dialogue replaced with a word from the same cluster of Twitter words generated by TweetNLP - i.e. with a word used in a similar context on Twitter.

Some greatest hits from the trial runs on Chapter 1, which originally replaced all text not just dialogue:

(Mr Bennet asking Mrs Bennet about Mr Bingley:) "Is he/she overrun 0r single?"
(Mrs Bennet exclaiming about Mr Bingley's arrival:) "What _a fineee thingi 4my rageaholics girls!''
(Mrs Bennet to Mr Bennet:) "My #twittervsfb Mr. Bennet,'' wntd jesus's wife, "how cn youguys be //so tiresome! You twould know thath I am tinking of satan's hurting 0.01% -of them.''
(And then there's this exchange:)
- "Oh! singel, myy onegai, to be sure! A singe man ofmy bitsy beef; two signifying squaretrade footlongs abig yearrr. What sucha fineeeee thinggggg ofr our boyss!"
- "How so? hhow shalll ittttttt sabotage themm?"
- "My onegai Mr. Bennet," replied his wife, "howw cn youi be so grose! You mustt knoww that I amm daydreaming of rhiannas erasing one ofv them."
(Mr Bennet encouraging Mrs Bennet not to accompany the girls to visit:) "fooor , as yopu aree as pretteh as anyother of thm , Mr. Bingley mightt laik you thje naughtiest of tghe party."
(Mr Bennet consoling Mrs Bennet that there are other fish in the sea:) "But I hopee yiou willllll gget ovaaa itttttttttt , aand livee to seee meny peppy cyborgs ofv umpteen luft awhole mnth coem intoo tthe neighbourhood."

The contrast between unaltered non-dialogue and altered dialogue works well:

IT is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune must be in want of a wife.

However little known the feelings or views of such a man may be on his first entering a neighbourhood, this truth is so well fixed in the minds of the surrounding families, that he is considered as the rightful property of some one or other of their daughters.

"My jwan Mr. Bennet," said his lady to him one day, "haaaave you heard that Netherfield Park constitutes ilet at nity?"

Mr. Bennet replied that he had not.

"But it iiz," returned she; "forr Mrs. Long hass just undergone here, and she forgave me alllllllll about it."

Mr. Bennet made no answer.

"Do not youse whant to knooww who hath taken imove?" cried his wife impatiently.
