This was meant to be a compilation of every reddit comment containing the phrase "that's how it is" made from 2011 through the present, but due to BigQuery's ratelimiting and my impatience, there is some missing data. Still, it clocks in at 75k words and has samples from enough of that timespan to justify the title.
It's starting to feel like my "real" NaNoGenMo is just a conveniently daunting thing to run away from and make lots of tiny things like this instead. We'll see.
I'm pretty delighted with the lines-of-source to output-readability that I've achieved here. I even feel like it actually almost kind of accomplishes what I set out to do, which was to strip bare the degree to which humans fall back on heavy-handed, essentially meaningless rhetorical tools to shape [at least their perception of] reality.
