I am fiddling with variations on a poetry generator that pulls words and 2-3 word phrases from an online source. Some sample output in two different modes here: http://techhouse.org/~jake/poetry.html (It might be a few moment's fun to try to figure out the general rules in each column, and the source of the text)

If I'm going to take this to 50k words, which I guess I am now, I'm thinking I'll do 50 poems each in a large number of styles, and then switch up the source material and do them again.

Section One is done! It has some real gems; check out NOSTALGIA, THROUGH, and ACTIONS for some of my favorites.

I spent about a hundred times as long on Section Two, and I'm about a hundred times less happy with it. Feh.

Wow. I think some of those (like "Mysterious" and "Surprise" in section one) would make awesome thrash metal lyrics!
