russian input in M-p command makes impossible to cancel it #181

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Press M-p for entering a command
2. Start writing in Russian (may be other languages/alfabets lead to that
problem)

What is the expected result? What do you see instead?

You can do nothing, only entering new text. Commands don't work, even
Enter doesn't work.

What version of the product are you using (wmii -v)? On what operating
system?

Debian sid, wmii 3.9~beta1 from Launchpad PPA.

The same problem.

It needs to switch English layout then backspace or ESC.

Can you please run xev>xev.log, type a few words, then press enter, escape, and
Ctrl-[. Also, does wimenu close when you press Ctrl-[?

Similar problem.

Reproduce:
 - Press M-p
 - Start entering english text, works fine
 - Press Alt-Shift (or another) for changing to russian language
 - Start typing, no commands are suggested for me (that's ok as I don't have any)
 - Backspace all the text
 - Switch to english language again
 - Type english commands

Expected:
English typed text is shown, commands are suggested

Actual:
Typed text not shown, commands not suggested

Version:
wmii-3.9.2, ©2010 Kris Maglione
Ubuntu 12.04.1

Hi, do you still experience this issue? I've just tested the hg version, and it
seems to work fine.
