Console emulation not working an KitKat (Android 4.4) #1

The console emulation stopped working when I upgraded from 4.3 to 4.4

There is no response when using jquery,console. No key presses are echoed, and return doesn't do anything. I can repro this on the source github page https://github.com/chrisdone/jquery-console. Since its on an old version of jQuery, and never promised to work in mobile anyway, I wrote my own console module, which is now installed. Tested on my Nexus4, and I can again play StarTrek.
