I plan to do this, yes. However API support for enchants, extra sockets, socketed gems and reforges is still incomplete.
As soon as the API will support this in a reasonable manner, I will add the ability to DarkTip to handle such things. :-)
Ah of course. The wowhead tooltips i'm currently using will have their own data mined information for this sort of thing. Let's hope they get it in there soon then :)
Yeah, Wowhead has the advantage that they can provide their own data backend without any hassle.
Since I'm doing pure Javascript I could start importing huge lists of possible enchants, gems and whatnot, but that would bloat the javascript file beyond any reasonable filesize. :-/
Just wanted to drop a line here too:
I pushed a major update to DarkTip that adds the "wow.item.equipped" module. Currently the module only supports gems and transmogrification, but I will add enchants and reforges as soon as the api will provide an endpoint for those.
Just like the wowhead tooltips I'd love to have the ability to set various data items on items. For instance the number of set pieces equipped or the gems place in sockets (including extra blacksmithing sockets).
This could mean that I switch from wowhead to darktip (or, at least provide the option to my end users).
Many Thanks
