Activity Embeds Issue with App & Platform #20

This is related to activity embeds. I’ve mentioned before how, any link that is posted in an activity update, BB will try to forcibly embed that link into a preview:

As you can see in the instance of the bit.ly link, BB tries to embed a preview for that link but it just comes through as a string. This would appear to be a minor issue that could easily be fixed, but it actually produces a critical issue for the BuddyBoss app which needs urgent attention.

To reproduce the issue, simply post a bit.ly link in an activity feed update and the app will give you a critical error. Note that this error only appears on iPad according to my testing. My iPhone X doesn’t produce the critical error, but my iPad Pro does.

Possibly fixed in latest 1.5.x update - requires testing.
