Hi @amreniouinnovent! The flutter
CLI tool treats the public_member_api_docs
specially and I think you're getting snagged by that. If it's sufficient to get a listing of undocumented members, you could try the dartdocs
flag to the flutter tool?
/cc @jonahwilliams
@pq I was getting errors before but I don't know what I changed when I push any code the Flutter analyze will run and I will get an error for any undocumented class
in my .git/hooks/pre-push I have this code
#!/bin/sh
# To use add to `.git/hooks/`
# Should be named `pre-push`
# Make executable with `chmod +x`
# stash any unstaged changes
git stash -q --keep-index
# run Flutter analyze + test
flutter analyze
if [ $? -ne 0 ]; then
# unstash the unstashed changes
git stash pop -q
exit 1
fi
flutter test
if [ $? -ne 0 ]; then
# unstash the unstashed changes
git stash pop -q
exit 1
fi
# unstash the unstashed changes
git stash pop -q
exit 0
so by the static analysis which runs on every push, I will be sure I have 100% documented code
@pq I tried dartanalyzer --options analysis_options.yaml
and it works I will report the issue on flutter repository
Perfect. Thanks for following up!
@pq thank you for your help I have one more issue exclude is not working for auto-generated JSON annotation .g.dart classes
exclude:
- "lib/**.g.dart"
any suggestion?
Where are you seeing this? Using dartanalyzer
, or flutter analyze
or in the IDE?
@pq I used this command dartanalyzer --options analysis_options.yaml .
version: dartanalyzer version 2.5.0-edge.b5aeaa67960c03e528b76c5cfa55059a058de34e
I saw "lib/**.g.dart" in your comment here https://github.com/dart-lang/linter/issues/320#issuecomment-487627741
I tried
- lib/**.g.dart
- 'lib/**.g.dart'
- '**/*.g.dart'
Ah. This looks like a bug in analyzer
(or in package:glob
--- or maybe more likely in our assumptions about it).
Would you be so kind as to file a bug on the SDK here? If you tag me I'll make sure it gets categorized correctly.
Thanks for all the follow up!
@pq Unfortunately, there is an open issue since 2017 for exclude https://github.com/dart-lang/sdk/issues/29430 https://github.com/dart-lang/sdk/issues/28463
Reported in Flutter repo here: https://github.com/flutter/flutter/issues/36263
Thanks for the reports @amreniouinnovent!
Describe the issue I have "No issues found" message while beside it I have "(ran in 12.6s; 29 public members lack documentation)"
Rule:
public_member_api_docs
To Reproduce 1-Just use flutter project with rule
public_member_api_docs
2-runflutter analyze
Expected behavior I expect public_member_api_docs to be included as an issue
Additional context I added in the error section
public_member_api_docs: error
but the same result in the terminal while IDE shows me the lint errors
