adding shutdown #5

@mythz Wanted to get this up on drone.io, noticed that the unit tests dont actually shutdown. Think we could refactor the tests to use the built in unit test suite? Also would it be possible to remove the dependency of Mixins?

Yep both ideas sound good, will look at it next weekend.
