Sign up and onboard by selecting at least 3 topics, or log in as a returning user
Land on Watch
Should automatically stream a playlist (one YouTube video, clipped into 30-second chunks by our ML model) that relates to one of the topics they selected during onboarding
Swiping right ("like") should bring the user to the next video in the playlist
Swiping left ("dislike") should skip the current playlist and start a new one within the same topic
Swiping up ("learn more") should open the Deep Dive, which provides more details about the current playlist
From Deep Dive, the user should be able to share the video via text (real) or with a fake friend through the app (mocked)
Use the Explore page to switch topics (My interests) or navigate to a different playlist within the same topic (Continue learning)

Feedback
Focus
Some aspects of the user experience we hope to observe/collect feedback on include:
General Interface
Layout and orientation. Would users prefer a landscape or portrait?
Swipe directions. Is swiping right (rather than up) to transition to the next video intuitive? We anticipate most users expecting a new video when they swipe up, because this is how they would transition on other popular streaming platforms, like TikTok and YouTube Shorts. [However, because our intent is to foster learning and prevent "doom-scrolling," we've decided to open the Deep Dive instead].
Connection between frontend and backend, particularly our streaming quality
Clipping
Is 30 seconds too long, too short, or just right? How long do they stay on one video before navigating to the next?
Were videos in the Watch stream cut "properly" (ex. not mid-sentence)?
Entertainment
How long do users stay on Watch before navigating to Explore?
How often would users use Explore to switch topics?
Social interactions
Would users prefer to learn independently, or share their learning experiences with friends on the app?
Would users be interested in uploading their own content for clipping?
What additional features would users like to see?
We plan to implement bookmarking/saving, sharing, uploading, friending, etc.
We also plan to incorporate random videos in Watch to "learn" the users interests outside of the ones they selected in onboarding, and to provide more entertainment/variety (would this disrupt their learning?)
How can we make our app more entertaining in general, while also cultivating knowledge and curiosity?
Collecting Feedback
We'll verbally engage with users when they come by our station and observe how they interact with our app
We've also created a short survey for users that prefer to type their answers to the questions we hope to ask here
