i think the successes here will definitely be achievable. on the annoyingness - are there other parts of the project that are interesting to you? it isn't too late to find what is specifically exciting to you and something you enjoy. sounds like doing something more complex on the server side? potentially for some of these views doing some aggregations between multiple models may be necessary.
