what worked well
We split up the work so well.
Up to date on all assigned tasks.
what didn't
Difficult to determine how long tasks may take since many are interconnected.
self assessment on progress
We are at the beginning of the development process.
lay out each of the following weeks till end of term with brief goals for each
week 5: Setup Unity
(player connect, move, top down angled main camera, pickup system, basic physics, model & terrain prototype/modeling)
Avi: physics (wiggly/ragdoll?)
Kewen & Kaihao: 1. terrain and 2. player prototype, model prototyping
Michael: connect, camera
Yuchuan : movement, pickup, try single hand pickup?
INTEGRATE the above (could stretch to next week)
week 6: Character designs (based on animals) and maps, game level 1 setup (code)
score system
week 7: level 1 finish up and starting starting area (code), animations, details in the models and the map
integration
week 8: gadgets (code and model), character special skills
week 9: continue week 8 and integration
week 10: lightings, post processing ... Ready to demo a game for alpha testing (better to have beta)
briefly summarize any other topics/discussions
we talked about player design; we are thinking to have animals as players and design their ability to move/drag/jump in accordance to their strength/specialties in real life. Like a seal would move on its fin and can't pick up two stuff at once; a monkey could pick up two things at once, and can jump higher, but moves slower with stuffs in hand
