Overview of Module Issues

• Ability to create / set multiple pathways to graduation / completion using courses created / assigned to Pathway
• Student will be set for a single "Default Pathway" but they can be switched from one to another....
• Teachers/Counselors set Default Pathway that is viewed via conference with student and setting....
• But, all (student / teachers / admins) can view student progress by other Pathways at any time by pull down
• Pathways "view only" access added to Student/Parent log in...defaults to set Pathway...others viewable with pull down
• View by all in GPR style interface that is renamed "Pathway Reports"
• Comments associated with each student and pathway are stored...viewable by all (student/teachers/admins) via the active Pathway being viewed
• History needs to associated with additional notes (History stored with Toggle history - full comments)
• Can search for students by "Default Pathway" to form groups / export data...
• Courses will fall into categories (see drag and drop creation below) on Pathways screen so that they count as electives for some pathways, but as essential requirement for another
• This changes Default Group View - Have to figure out how Default Group View is impacted
• Option to "clone" existing Pathways with a button that opens new Pathway / Individual Progress Plan (SpEd) named "Copy of PATHWAYNAME" with cursor in the name spot to rename.

John, I tried to check the new functionality, but I couldn't figure it out. I checked the Graduation Progress Report, is that the pathway? I can see the HS Completion, but I don't know how to add a new pathway. Sorry, I need some guidance.

Yes, the GPR is being enhanced and renamed as Pathway Report. It is working (mostly) but needs prettified. The links I sent by email were to created new Pathways. I will send you more information about the three screen links in V.1 site by email and then post more here after a couple of changes are done that Robert and I discussed today. Thanks for checking.

I am liking the new Pathway Build Screen. I just realized that this screen is drag and drop enabled. Awesome!

One Thing: I think rather than "Add" at the little text link it should be a "Save" or "Change" button?

Another Thing: I'd recommend changing these menu terms slightly to make more intuitive / flexible:

Perhaps:

• Category instead of Title
• Requirement instead of Class
• New instead of Blank

Where the subject/level is now:

• Requirement/Level

Question: How do we handle the visualizations of Electives taken in the Pathways screen? Does it show all the electives taken since all electives count toward credit and GPA? That is the way it is supposed to work now....

Another Question: From Original Feature Outline: Some courses will be part of a required element for some Pathways, but act as an elective for other Pathways...So is it assumed that if a course is NOT part of a Pathway being viewed, then it is an elective? That would intuitively make sense....

And Another: In addition to the Pathways / Individual view, how does this get displayed when looking at a Group view?

Feedback on Pathways Screen Details

The basic Pathways are working and viewable, but some items need tweakage.

• Title at the top needs to reflect active pathway such as "College Preparatory Pathway", not "Graduation Progress Report"
• Comments area at bottom needs to below all test score data
• WorkKeys is missing: Test areas needed are ACT/SAT/WorkKeys/HSGQE
• Color coding of actual scores for all but HSGQE in relation to cut scores (Green, Pink) desirable, but not absolutely necessary
• HSGQE is not displaying like current system, which it should. This score display must include the color coding as it does now since student can't graduate with regular diploma without it...unlike other tests on this screen.
• Even though comments save automatically, and are all Ajaxy cool, I think that a save button (even as a placebo that reloads page...lol) would prevent teachers from assuming that: a) Nothing is being saved! Oh noooo!; and/or, b) DART lost my erudite comments on Little Johnny...I did them and DART done went and lost them! ;-)
