CMP 50HX not working #31

Windows 11. Driver 537.13.

GPU-Z seems to recognize the card with all the features and "v" at the right place BUT

There's no way to select the GPU, but OpenGL (unigine) seems to work (slowly, less than what the iGPU is capable of). DirectX is broken: every program or benchmark just crashes. It's me or the card is gutted at hardware level ?

PS : I haven't done any hardware modification right now, but there's no point in even try at this point.

There's no way to select the GPU

If the driver is installed correctly you should be able to select CMP 50X in Windows options.

Windows Default High-performance GPU

Some users reported that the same problem was solved by reinstalling Windows (from the original Microsoft image, without using so-called “custom Windows builds” and without any “tweakers”).

That's probably the only way (reinstalling windows). Anyway changing some bios options I was able to have it as a rendering GPU (I see that from performance graph in task manager). Even fidgeting there's still some problem here and there, stuff that makes the card basically useless. Even using it (keep in mind that is still seen as a 4X PCIe 1.1) the card perform at 20something fps 1080p on LOW details in Cyberpunk 2077 (below a GT-1050). I've tried to use a benchmark tool to see what could be the issue, I used vkpeak and the response was 0 on scalar and vec4 fp64 (that's fine, it's the same result I get for the iGPU) and ALL ZEROs on every int32 and int16 (that's quite different).

Other than that the card seems able to enable and use tensor cores for DLSS when the card is "driven" as CMX 50HX. I'll try later on another windows installation.

EDIT: Did my homework. So far it seems that you can have DLSS, but only if you don't force another card but install the (patched) CMP 50HX driver. Even then the driver seems to cheat a bit because the performance gain, even when when maing out DLSS, is minimal (from 26 to 33 fps). Windows 11 already select the "performance" card (CMP 50HX) when a game is heavy. You don't get that "Graphics performance preference" but you can browse the executable and force the card for a game: doing so give no performance improvement and nonstandard resolutions (21:9) aren't propely displayed.

I'll state this again: the card is still "locked" to 4 lanes, but the 3D performances are abysmal, with a 2560x1080 (not resized, not DLSSed, not XeSSed, not FSRed) below 30fps at "high" (more like 26). The card is probably "VBIOS locked".

Don't buy.

Similar problem with CMP-70HX On the same system where P104-100 work fine, it did not work. Drivers are installed, everything is selected wherever it is needed, but there is no acceleration at all in 3D. I tried changing Windows (10, 11 all versions that were available), all available driver versions - no effect. At device manager device NVPCF with error code 31

I have a CMP 50HX, I bought it hoping to use it for Folding@home but the performance is abysmal so far. The modded drivers fail to install. I am running driver 472.12 in conjunction with a Quadro k620 and only OpenCL and Cuda are activated in GPU-Z as well as OpenGL and PhysX. Didn't try to render anything 3D on this card. Waiting for a P102 card.

Получается завести cmp 50 hx на полную?
