Hi @flexibeast , could you provide an example of your helm-dash configuration? thanks
Sure. What info would you like? i've not made any customisations to what's provided "out of the box". Basically, after my first installation of helm-dash
from MELPA, i:
helm-dash-install-docset
twice, once for the 'HTML' docset, and once for the 'CSS' docset, both of which appear to have been installed into my ~/.docsets/
directory;helm-dash-activate-docset
for both docsets, such that the value of helm-dash-common-docsets
was reported to be ("HTML" "CSS")
;helm-dash
and tried supplying e.g. "abbr" or "width" as the pattern - no candidates at all were produced. After uninstalling the MELPA version and installing the master branch version, i:
(add-to-list 'load-path "~/.emacs.d/helm-dash")
, followed by a (require 'helm-dash)
; the latter returned 'helm-dash' in the minibuffer as its result.helm-dash-activate-docset
for both docsets, again confirming that the value of helm-dash-common-docsets
was ("HTML" "CSS")
;helm-dash
with 'abbr' and 'width' - again, no candidates were produced.Sorry, i should have added, the value of helm-dash-docsets-path
is indeed "~/.docsets".
@flexibeast , I can't reproduce it.
with both docsets active, can you try to type 'css ' and see if all the css results are produced? If not, it's probably some messing up with the paths.
Doing that, i don't get any CSS results; only "CSS nil".
Okay, i found the problem: the Debian sqlite3
package wasn't installed. As soon as i installed that, helm-dash
started working. :-) Perhaps add a check for the presence of an sqlite3
binary?
great that you made itt work!
i'll think about the sqlite check, or at least, make it clearer in the readme.
Please mention (in the Readme) that it requires sqlite3
. I initially installed sqlite
package, and the mode was not working.
oh, oks. doing it now.
Thanks!
Further to Issue 41, i've just uninstalled the
helm-dash
(MELPA) package via the package manager, cloned the master branch, and loadedhelm-dash
from that; but it's still not providing any candidates for either of the two docsets i've installed ('HTML' and 'CSS').
