Refactoring of app architecture to reduce technical debt, make future updates easier and improve maintainability.

As this code base and feature-set has grown, its become necessary to focus some effort on refactoring the current application structure to make additional features and maintenance easier and reduce the current technical debt.

These changes represent some of the needed refactors.
