Highlight institutions that use Dask #102

On the Dask landing page we have a "Powered by Dask" section which lists several free and open source projects that use or integrate with Dask. This does a good job of highlighting the open source Dask ecosystem and how Dask interoperates nicely with the rest of the PyData stack.

Additionally there's also value in highlighting companies or other institutions which use Dask (e.g. in a product they make, to scale internal processes, etc.). If someone comes to dask.org and sees that Dask is used at, for example, Captial One/NVIDIA/Microsoft/..., they'll get the (correct) sense that Dask is production-ready and trusted by large organizations. For an example of how another open source project has done this, see the "Currently in use at" section of https://jupyter.org/.

This issue is to gauge if there's interest / buy-in from Dask community members to add a section to dask.org where we feature companies that use Dask. This could take the form of a grid of logos, a carousel of quotes from companies about how they use Dask (I think we collected some of these at the Dask workshop last February?), or something else -- totally open to suggestions.

I'm generally in favor of this. I think that it would be good to get general buy-in first from people here, see if there are any concerns, and then if that works well we advertise on twitter / linkedin to crowdsource company names and quotes. Then we would add things to the web page.

Generally this sounds like a good idea. Am assuming we get sign off from someone in that org (after doing whatever necessary internal process may be required) before posting a logo.

Have a couple questions. First do we have criteria around how in use it needs to be at an organization to list it? How many users/developers do we need at an org to consider listing it? Not that we need an exact number, but it may be useful to go through this thought exercise to help us determine when we list an org. Second does NumFOCUS have any recommendations regarding including other orgs logos? We may have already answered this question before. So am asking mainly so we can capture those in whatever process we use.

Inclusion on this page would be something NVIDIA would support.

I would be happy to provide Capital One's highlights. Just let me know what you need and I'll get it through our comms process.

I think getting orgs to publish a "How we use Dask" blog post on their own website and then linking a logo from the Dask site to that post would have the most impact. If it's not possible to get a post like that then linking to their home page as the Jupyter site does would also be fine.

So for Capital One it would be a case of linking their logo to this post, or a follow up. As @mikebeaumont said there is also already a suitable post on the NVIDIA Developers blog.

I also spotted a similar posts from Blue Yonder, UK Met Office and NASA.
