PR ( https://github.com/dask/dask/pull/9038 ) seems ambitious to me. Planning on doing another round of reviews, but may be pretty slow in the near term unfortunately.

PR ( https://github.com/dask/distributed/pull/6557 ) can be merged if we are not too concerned with having a test. My feeling there is a test will not be pleasant on CI and unless we run it locally regularly it may not be of much value.

Side note: Will be out on the 24th.

https://github.com/dask/distributed/pull/6626 fixes a regression https://github.com/dask/distributed/issues/6624 that was introduced in 2022.6.0

I'm going to merge https://github.com/dask/distributed/pull/6557 and https://github.com/dask/distributed/pull/6626 and start the release now.
