For the sake of Distributed's conda CI, I think we should push on merging in https://github.com/dask/dask/pull/11014 prior to release, which would resolve an edge case that can block Distributed's CI until a commit is made to dask/dask.

Closing as 2024.4.0 is out on PyPI, conda-forge, and docker registries
