What steps will reproduce the problem?

I am so noob here, but i have to know some things! Tried to attack a wpa and i 
used the wordlist.txt inside the setup folder when upadated the program ! None 
key has found ! Why i have to set a wordlist? Whats the point ! This program 
doesnt try to find the password? It only uses stored passwords? I want to 
attack and find the key ! What i must do?
The program give me the same error all the time : (python:13837) Gtk-WARNING 
**: Attempting to set the permissions of /root......./recently-used.xbel but 
failed : No such file or directory
