@RangerMauve I'm working on some fuller blog posts next week that will hopefully be even better to share!

madjin commented 5 years ago

I used Dat for hosting demos to many awesome webvr examples here:

https://github.com/datpy - Python implementation is finally getting off the ground! Would be great to spread the word and see if anyone else is interested to help along with this effort.

EDIT: I've written a bit more on https://scratchpad.decentral1.se/announcing-datpy to explain the "why".

RangerMauve commented 5 years ago

@decentral1se Oh hell yeah! That's awesome!

( Neeaaat! It'll be so cool to play with merkle trees in Python ... )

Oh, and I'll mention that we started using @cblgh 's awesome cabal-headless code (mentioned above) to experiment with p5.js and jsnetworkx in order to visualize cabal data (If it's too late for this newsletter issue, no worries! :))

cabal-p5js

cabal-p5js lets you play with p5js generally -- and it has examples that let you visualize peers and their messages as animated bubbles that bounce off one another:

or as a stream of connection events over time:

cabal-netx

cabal-netx lets you visualize your peer network in graph form as it connects:

You all rock so hard. Thank you for what you're doing.

Still drafting up the newsletter. Would anybody have time tomorrow to review it before I publish? :)

dwblair commented 5 years ago
