Instead of only using FontForge References and unlinking during the build:

Use Anchors and GPOS table as explained here: http://designwithfontforge.com/en-US/Diacritics_and_Accents.html
Use automatic unlink on generation when overlapping.

Done for Regular and Regular Italic.

Bold is going to be generated and, therefore, it is not necessary to do it there as well.
