Add incubator flow to readme #46

Okay. Further to @weaverbel unsprinting the repo, I've tried to represent in the readme where we are with different lessons using the schema @jezcope developed for lesson status http://pad.software-carpentry.org/library-carpentry-incubator

I'm not sure where some of these lessons are post-sprint, so I'd be grateful of input from maintainers: especially @richyvk and @c-martinez on python and python-intro (and, indeed, @elliewix as I know you did LOADS of work on these) and @mkuzak on SQL.

I should say that my ascription of status is no criticism of the lesson development, I'd just rather we were honest with those coming to the lessons. In time, we'll build the status into the webpages for each lesson and their READMEs, et cetera.

python-intro is the new lesson and is the repo we'll be working with in the future. We have a few issues to sort out still. Hopefully we can close these issues in the next few days.

So @c-martinez https://github.com/data-lessons/library-python will be retired?

c-martinez commented 7 years ago

More like reworked into a not-so-starting level lesson.

@richyvk , please correct me if I am wrong.

drjwbaker commented 7 years ago

Right. So both will stay in place. Good to know!

mkuzak commented 7 years ago

maybe renaming it to library-python-intermediate will help with making it clearer

jezcope commented 7 years ago

Does this affect the alpha/beta status of those lessons then? Feels like library-python is in more of an alpha state if the plan is to rebuild it.

c-martinez commented 7 years ago

Perhaps renaming would be sensible.

I am also not sure if they need to be different lessons or just different episodes on the same lesson which will be a really long lesson which may not get used from beginning to end very often.

Definitely alpha at the moment I would say. Both still need to be polished and tried out.
