suggestions for plot labels / legends

• [x] bigger font (crop labels that are too long and/or do some basic text replacements to remove unnecessary text)
• [ ] all black standardized type face
• [ ] remove the offset ("expand") that ggplot puts by default in between 0 and the bars (waste of space and ugly)
• [ ] use Brewer colors instead of the defaults
• [x] standardize and de-computerize legend titles (i.e., "User set" instead of "userSet")
• [x] standardize title / sentence case used in axis labels ("Number of regions", "Odds Ratio", ...)

we've addressed the bulk of these suggestions ... closing this particular issue and will address other plot enhancements in new issues as needed
