The main issue here seems to be that the Cellosaurus is licensed CC BY-ND, whereas Wikidata is CC0 and can only ingest CC0 materials. However, at least for now, the information contained in the Cellosaurus is too granular for Wikidata, so releasing part of the Cellosaurus under CC0 may be an option.
I contacted the maintainer of the Cellosaurus yesterday, and his response was basically that he is already working on this, so we're now looking into it together.
In the end, we worked on an outline describing how the two databases could be integrated. It is in a non-public Google doc but that can hopefully be shared soon.
