In this episode add an image of peeled orange with globe drawn on from https://github.com/MicheleTobias/R-Projections-Workshop at the end of the "Projection" section.

Would it be helpful at this point to include specific examples of projections and what they do well? For example, in the section "Which CRS/projection should I use?", we could show an equal-area projection (good for comparing areas of different regions, but distorts shapes) and an azimuthal equidistant projection (good for calculating distances from central point to any other point, but distorts shape and area away from that point).

Yes it sounds like a good idea to add an example. I am happy to work on this issue except if you @pmarchand1 are already working on it.

pmarchand1 commented 6 years ago

@annefou I'm going to work on a different lesson for the time being, so if you want to add those examples today, go for it.

annefou commented 6 years ago

Ok. So I'll add the image of the peeled orange and an example.

By the way are we allowed to freely use images from a blog? I don't know much about copyright and license... I also found this image http://middlebeginnings.blogspot.no/2013/08/our-first-week-of-6th-grade-homeschool.html

@pmarchand1 Did anyone run with your idea for some examples showing the pros/cons of different projections? Sounds like a great idea, sounded like you and @annefou were going to run with it? If not I could make something?
