In the first code example, I changed the output to show the index column, and revised the text before and after the example.

I'm helping the current lesson Maintainers process outstanding pull requests on this repository, in preparation for transition to the new lesson infrastructure. Thank you for contributing, @AllenDowney. I'm going to close this pull request due to inactivity but, if you would like to follow up and address the comments of the former Maintainers, please feel free to reopen it before the end of April, or open a new PR after the transition in May.
